The Team at Dart Capital are our most important asset. Every member of our team has been selected for their unique abilities, their focus and for their commitment to our clients.
We understand that the management of your money is a personal matter. Therefore we don’t seek to provide a “one-size-fits-all” client experience. Our approach is focused on real people – for both our colleagues and our clients – so you can expect a genuinely personal experience.
Our people are our most important asset
Richard joined Dart Capital in 2004, and has worked his entire career, spanning nearly 30 years, in Investment Management. His role has always been managing both teams and relationship-orientated family clients across a number of organisations.
In 2008 he led the management buyout of Dart Capital from the previous owners in order to ensure the business and its proposition was more resilient.
Richard provides a clear strategic vision for Dart Capital by having a thorough understanding of the needs of clients. When Richard joined Dart Capital it had only £47m under management and under his leadership this has grown from strength to strength to nearly £700m.
Richard’s objectives for Dart Capital remain to make the company a natural home for successful people, emphasising job satisfaction, fun and personal fulfilment.
Richard was born in Corbridge, Northumberland and was educated at Uppingham School. He obtained a BSC (Hons) from London University.
Outside of work you can find him with a fishing rod in hand, preferably on a wild Scottish Loch.
Joining Dart in September 2008, Matt was promoted to the Board in 2017.
Matt has a cross-functional responsibility for all finance and operational aspects of Dart’s business. With a primary focus on financial reporting and control, analysis of performance metrics, budgeting and treasury management, his remit also includes Dart’s data and IT systems, supplier and professional service relationships, property, HR, front office and administration processes, ensuring that these functions are effectively aligned at all times in support of Dart’s high-quality client service.
Chris has over 20 years’ experience in investment management, advising private clients on managing their wealth. He joined Dart in 2006, following 4 years in pensions administration and Ernst & Young tax services, and was appointed to the Board of Dart Capital in 2017.
Chris leads Dart’s client services function, managing a vertically integrated team of investment and portfolio managers, wealth planning and client services staff. His role also includes managing a number of Dart’s existing clients as well as winning new clients. He is deeply committed to the delivery of exceptional client service for all of Dart’s private and family clients, and believes high quality communication on both a personal and professional level is key to building trusted client relationships.
Chris is a member of Dart’s Investment Strategy and Risk Committees. He holds CISI Investment Advice Diploma Level 5 and CISI Private Client Advice.
Alex joined Dart in 2011 from Towers Watson, where he specialised in fund research. Initially involved in both client portfolio management and investment research, Alex has headed Dart’s investment research activities since 2013, when he took responsibility for the current range of model portfolios. He became Associate Director of Research and was appointed Chairman of Dart’s Investment Strategy Committee in 2017.
Alex directs Dart’s asset allocation outlook, guiding the positioning of model portfolios in line with Dart’s investment philosophy, reviewing Dart’s Buy List of funds and identifying new investment opportunities. He also oversees Dart’s monthly Fund Performance Review.
Alex holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and has been a CFA charter holder since 2014.
Andrew joined Dart Capital in 2014, and holds both the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and Private Client Advice exams.
As an Investment Manager, Andrew attends client meetings, during which he will assess a client’s needs against their long-term investment goals and attitude to risk. Andrew will then advise clients on appropriate strategies and investments to meet these objectives. In addition to this he is a voting member of our Investment Committee, which meets every month to discuss our tactical asset allocation and fund selection.
Andrew was born in London, is a University of Nottingham graduate, and enjoys keeping fit and trying to reduce his golf handicap.
Anna joined Dart Capital in 2014, and prior to that worked for a local financial advice firm.
Anna started her career as a Portfolio Manager, and more recently became Head of the Portfolio Management team, and is now a qualified Investment Manager.
Anna’s role as an Investment Manager is to build and maintain long term client relationships and to provide advice as their financial needs evolve over time. This will include assessing client objectives against their long-term investment goals, attitude to risk and working with them to help achieve their aspirations.
Anna graduated from the University of Reading with a First Class Honours Degree.
Anna was born and educated in Basildon, and outside of work she enjoys baking, traveling and sharing her passion in Dance, as a qualified Ballet Teacher.
Pip joined Dart Capital in February 2019 as Dart’s Compliance Officer and MLRO. She is a member of Dart’s Management Team with responsibility for continuing the ethical and compliant culture within the firm and for oversight of the firm’s risk and compliance systems and controls. She has 30+ years’ financial services expertise with over 25 years spent working in senior compliance and risk roles for both large and small firms looking after a wide range of clients and assets. Her detailed knowledge of the UK and global regulatory environment and wider expertise in corporate governance and risk management enables her to provide proactive and practical advice and guidance to the team. Pip is also a fully qualified and experienced Company Secretary.
Pip was born in Chelmsford, is a qualified Chartered Governance Professional (ACG), and has been an Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute since 1992. Outside of Dart, Pip enjoys socialising with family and friends, and taking her black lab Monty for long walks in the countryside in Essex. She is a keen cook, has an eclectic taste in music, is interested in property and interior design and likes to travel.
Clare joined Dart Capital as Senior Paraplanner in 2008, and is now responsible for managing the Portfolio Structuring Team.
As well as managing the Portfolio Structuring team, Clare also drafts the often complex financial planning reports, which detail our advice to clients about pensions, bonds and other structures. She also acts as a point of contact for both clients and colleagues for queries regarding these structures.
Clare’s diligence, attention to detail, communication skills and patience mean that she is popular with both clients and the team at Dart Capital.
Born in Aldershot, Hampshire, Clare was educated in Farnham. Outside of work Clare is a volunteer with Fleet Phoenix , a local charity set up in 2011 in response to youth services being cut both locally and nationally. Fleet Phoenix coordinate a variety of innovative youth projects for young people up to age 25 and Clare is involved with ‘TLC’, a free junior youth club for children up to and including school year 7. She also enjoys dancing and has recently become a contact for families going through the adoption process.
James joined Dart Capital in June 2018 as a Portfolio Manager. He was a graduate from Trinity College Dublin, with a degree in Business and Politics.
As a Senior Portfolio Manager, James is the day to day contact for many clients and supports the Investment Managers during client meetings.
James was born in London, and educated at Dulwich College and Sherborne School. Outside of work, James enjoys playing all sports and is involved in the management of a South London rugby team.
Miranda joined Dart Capital in August 2018 as a Portfolio Manager, after graduating in June 2018 from the University of Exeter with a BA degree in History.
As a Senior Portfolio Manager, Miranda provides support to Investment Managers during client meetings and is responsible for managing portfolios against strategies determined by the Investment Committee.
Since joining Dart Capital, Miranda has successfully gained her Investment Management Certificate (IMC) qualification.
Miranda was born in London, and educated at Wycombe Abbey. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and keeping fit by going to the gym, skiing and playing tennis.
Jacky joined Dart Capital in December 2014 following the merger of Dart Capital and Waterson Jones.
Having developed trusted and enjoyable relationships with many clients, Jacky is now Client Manager, working in the Portfolio Structuring Team. Jacky is the first point of contact for our prospective clients, as we can rely on her to ensure a smooth, efficient and enjoyable onboarding experience.
Her in-depth client knowledge, keen eye and attention to detail, enables her to provide support to the wider team.
Jacky is also responsible for the management of our Intranet content, keeping it interesting and up-to-date, and reviewing our internal processes and procedures.
Raised in Meriden in Warwickshire, Jacky studied at Henley, and is an Institute of Hospitality graduate. Life before Dart was in global FMCG, with Nestle UK Ltd. Jacky moved swiftly through sales and brand marketing roles, acquiring exceptional training and experience, before her appointment to Customer Marketing Manager of a pioneering business unit, with global focus. This utilised her strength in developing client relationships with major retailers including Waitrose and Tesco, third party partners such as Disney, and joint ventures resulting from opportunities arising from M&As, such as Rowntree. Jacky then took a career break to focus on her young family, before restarting with Dart Capital.
Inspired by Menorca, Jacky is in keen to learn Spanish, and has a passion for period property, interior design, and theatre.
Dan joined Dart Capital in October 2020 as an Investment Analyst. He graduated from Bath with a First Class Honours degree in Accounting & Finance.
As an Investment Analyst, Dan attends Fund Manager meetings and helps contribute to the broader fund selection and due diligence involved in the investment process. In addition, Dan produces portfolio data used for client communications such as Investment Briefs and maintains the monthly investment cycle, including writing minutes for the various investment Committee meetings and liaising with the Portfolio Management team regarding the implementation of changes.
Dan was born and educated in Chichester, West Sussex. Now residing in South London, he enjoys keeping active through sports such as tennis and squash.
Joe joined Dart Capital in July 2021 as an Investment Analyst. Prior to Dart, Joe worked as an Investment Analyst at a stockbroker based near Oxford for three years.
Joe became a CFA® charterholder in 2022 and graduated in 2018 with a BA Honours in Business Management.
As an Investment Analyst, Joe will provide ongoing support to the Investment Research team, researching new fund ideas, monitoring model portfolios and attending fund manager meetings. As part of the role, Joe is also a member of the Investment Strategy Committee where asset allocation and fund selections are discussed.
Joe is originally from Knutsford in Cheshire and outside of work he is a keen golfer and footballer.
Clair joined Dart Capital in 2017 as a Portfolio Manager.
Clair is responsible for managing portfolios against strategies determined by the Investment Committees. She is also responsible for ensuring that portfolios appropriately utilise tax allowances such as ISA and CGT. Clair provides administrative support by providing meeting preparation and other administrative tasks within the Portfolio Management Team.
Clair was born in Canterbury, educated in Faversham, and has a passion for being creative and organising functions and events.
Emma joined Dart Capital in October 2020 as a Portfolio Manager. She graduated from the University of Bristol with First-Class Honours in Economics and Accounting .
As a Portfolio Manager, Emma is responsible for managing portfolios against strategies determined by the Investment Committee. She is also responsible for ensuring that portfolios appropriately utilise tax allowances such as ISA and CGT allowances.
Emma is currently studying to take her Investment Management Certificate (IMC) 2 exam, having passed her IMC 1 in April 2021.
Born in Epsom, and educated in Effingham, Surrey, Emma enjoys cooking and keeping fit through cycling and going to the gym.
Josh joined Dart Capital as a Paraplanner in May 2021, as a graduate from the University of East Anglia with a Joint Honours degree in Intercultural Communication with Business Management. Since graduating in 2018, he worked in financial services for three years.
As a Paraplanner Josh provides support to the portfolio structuring team, which involves helping write financial planning reports, compiling product research and other administrative tasks.
Josh is currently studying towards the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
Josh was born in Johannesburg, and educated at Hilton College in KwaZulu – Natal, South Africa where he boarded. Outside of work, Josh is a proud South African and is passionate about South African rugby as well as spending the odd weekend on the golf course.
Catherine joined Dart in July 2019 in the Portfolio Management team, having graduated from Staffordshire University with a degree in English.
As a Portfolio Structuring Administrator, Catherine processes new business, such as establishing new accounts and transferring existing polices. Catherine also provides administrative support to the Client Manager and Senior Paraplanners, by obtaining information from providers on clients’ existing financial arrangements and the preparation of client on boarding paperwork.
Catherine was born in Basildon, and educated in Wickford. Outside of work Catherine enjoys going for long walks, reading novels and socialising with friends and family.
Jodie joined Dart Capital in 2006 and is a Personal Assistant.
In addition to supporting Matt in a variety of administrative ways, such as managing expenses, co-ordinating office resources and ensuring we meet the Firm’s anti-money laundering , and CPD requirements, Jodie manages our diaries, co-ordinates our office resources and provides a welcoming voice to everyone that calls.
Jodie began job sharing with Louise when she started a family.
Born in Basildon, and educated in Pitsea, Jodie enjoys maintaining a good balance between home and work life. In her spare time, she is a qualified fitness instructor and enjoys all high-energy sports and activities, including skiing and the occasional obstacle race.
Louise joined Dart Capital in 2014, as a Personal Assistant, and job shares with Jodie.
Louise’s role is to provide vital support to the business. She manages our diaries, co-ordinates our office resources and provides a welcoming voice to everyone that calls.
Born in Basildon and educated in Billericay, Louise is a mum to two young children and enjoys flower arranging.
Nick is a Non Executive Director and Chairman. Nick leads the Board, providing strategic direction. He has been a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and predecessor firms since January 1992. He retired at the end of 2018 after 27 years as a partner and 34 years with the firm. Nick spent the last 16 years in various leadership positions in the tax practice.
Martin was appointed as a Non Executive Director in October 2019 and chairs the audit and remuneration committees.
Martin was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and its predecessor firms from April 1991, retiring in 2015 after 24 years as a partner and 38 years with the firm.
Martin was a member of PwC’s Supervisory Board and led client service teams across a broad range of UK and multinational company audits, transaction assignments and re-financings, principally in the retail, consumer and industrial products sectors, including four years as cross line of service leader for the Retail and Consumer Group.
Richard joined Dart Capital in 2004 and has worked in private client investment management for almost 30 years. In 2008 he led the management buyout of Dart Capital.
Richard is responsible for overseeing the investment process and he sits on the firm’s Investment Committee and attends the monthly Fund Performance Review meeting. The Investment Committee is chaired by the Associate Director of Research, Alexander George, with Alexander and Richard working closely together to ensure that client portfolios reflect the team’s market outlook.
Richard is the Senior Investment Manager at Dart Capital and his role is to advise clients on the management of their investments and to provide portfolio structuring advice responsible. Richard is also a Director and therefore sits on the Board.

Clare is part of the “Walk It” project, working with young people on the streets, alongside other agencies, at times of the day and week that historically see anti-social behaviour hit a peak and also “FREE”, an open access youth cafe.
